Youth Parliament
Plenary Session - Rome 2009
Final Message
We, Young people from
17 nations, have gathered in Rome, the eternal city, to
dream, to reflect, to share our concerns and our
yearnings, with the firm desire to write with our lives
a Magna Carta of values for a new civilization.
These days have been filled with intense listening and
shared experience, with honest effort on the part of
everyone to give and receive the best of each one.
We feel truly enriched, edified, strengthened by one
another. Our shared experience has already been the
palpable beginning of this new civilization that we wish
to build.
We commit ourselves to continue exploring and making
reality each one of these dreams that we have discovered
both together and personally.
Throughout the coming year we will work together to
express concretely which values we wish to defend and
how we can put them into practice, and we will seek the
way to continue to announce this great Project, the
World Youth Parliament.
Certainly we wish to thank, in a special way, Fernando
Rielo, Founder of the World Youth Parliament, for having
believed in young people unconditionally and for having
encouraged us to restore humanity beginning with
ourselves.
This great aspiration that we have to live something
that is truly pure, something that is even worth giving
our lives for, will become reality, beyond doubt, if we
have the help and the example of Him Who preceded us in
doing so, our Divine Brother, Jesus Christ.
